CE PhD in Stryctural engr & Earthquake Engr 1967
Employment:
Bell Lab 1967-1975 Member of Technical staff
National Science Foundation, 1975-2012
Program Director for Earthquake Engineering, 1975-2000 (for 25 years)
Program director for Sensors & Sensing Systems, 2000-2012
Developing novel research in Earthquake engineering including major international collaborative
Programs with Japm, China, Taiwan, India etc.
Pioneering sensor program including frontier research in bio-inspired sensor technology, systems automation and structural health monitoring
Dr. LIU retired from NSF at the end of 2011 after serving at NFS for approx 37 years. He is now a visiting Professor of Southeast Univ & Nanjing Univ of Technology.
